IMAGINE CHURCH BELIEVES IN WOMEN!

IMAGINE CHURCH BELIEVES IN WOMEN!

Imagine Church Global is a part of a Denomination of churches called The Foursquare Church.  The Foursquare Church was started over 100 years ago in 1923 and is made up of almost 100,000 churches + ministries in over 150 countries around the world.  One of the unique qualities of The Foursquare Church is that it was started by a woman named Aimee Semple McPherson.
Based on scriptural evidence and Biblical text, we believe that women can hold and succeed in any level of leadership in a local church, ministry or Christian organization. For example, Imagine’s co-founder and pastor, Janae Klatt is a licensed, ordained, called and gifted senior/lead pastor of our church.

For more information, we have listed several resources regarding  the Biblical text that supports the Foursquare Distinctive: Empowering Leadership

PASTOR RICK WARREN ON PODCAST

Women Pastors + Saddleback Getting Kicked out of the SBC: Dr. Rick Warren

In this podcast conversation, Dr. Rick Warren explains why he shifted his view on women pastors and why he is standing by his convictions even when the SBC (Southern Baptist Convention) voted his church (Saddleback) out of the denomination.

Dr. Rick Warren was the pastor of Saddleback Church, one of the largest churches in the world, for over 40 years.  He is also the author of many books including “The Purpose Driven Life”.  Dr. Warren is now the executive director of “Finishing the Task” — a global network that exists to convene and to catalyze the global body of Christ.

After decades of being a part of the Southern Baptist Convention of Churches, Dr. Rick Warren has changed his stance and belief of women in senior leadership.  After years of research and scriptural analysis, Pastor Rick, has openly confessed that his previous belief was misinterpreted and incorrect. Dr. Rick Warren is now a public ally of women in senior leadership, helping to teach and resource the Church with the theological foundation for this belief.

MALESTROM BOOK

Like the danger of a maelstrom in the open seas, a relentless force threatens our culture, swirling with hidden currents that distorts God’s image of personhood. This book reveals how the malestrom is one of the Enemy’s single most successful strategies. Its victories are flashed before us every day in the headlines as men lose sight of who God created them to be. It has consumed the evangelical church that stoops to offering toxic “manly” solutions to the wrongs it perceives in society and distracts from the rich potential God has entrusted to his sons.

Digging deeply into the stories of men in the Bible who subverted cultural hierarchies, Carolyn Custis James shows us how countercultural God’s design for men really is. Through personal story, biblical commentary, and cultural analysis, Custis James:

Makes a strong case for the unbiblical nature of patriarchy.
Illuminates the sociology of marginalization and cultural gender roles.
Takes a close biblical look at Jesus and what his character and humanity means to the men of the church today.
Malestrom offers what we so desperately need—a biblical, global, timeless vision of godly personhood that is big enough to encompass the diversity of men’s lives and strong enough to withstand the crises they face.

“It is one thing to critique the abuses of a domineering masculinity and lament the religious and societal consequences, but Carolyn Custis James takes the next crucial step and offers us a better path forward. For those asking, “What now?” Malestrom serves as a sure-footed guide.” —Kristin Kobes Du Mez
